The Chancellor, Landmark University, Kwara State, Dr David Oyedepo, has advised stakeholders in the knowledge industry to find indigenous solutions to Africa’s problems. Oyedepo in a statement during the 10th graduation ceremony of the institution held in Omu-Aran, said Africa was the home of modern civilization, adding that leaving everything to chance had relegated the continent to the backwaters. His speech was titled, ‘The type of education we need in Africa.’

Oyedepo said: “I believe finding indigenous solutions is the only way forward for any community of people. My challenge to Africans in the knowledge industry is to be awake and begin to chart the way forward by developing learning modules geared towards the birth of a new Africa. Landmark University is an Afrocentric university with a burning passion for a New Africa.”

While addressing the graduates, Oyedepo encouraged them to be the problem solvers the world was seeking rather than being storytellers or entertainers.

In her speech at the ceremony, the Pro-chancellor of Landmark University, Mrs. Faith Oyedepo, disclosed that the origin of the 14 year-old institution’s latest batch of graduates cut across 30 states of Nigeria.
